Bull Shoals White River

Visiting the Bull Shoals White River area will leave you with the feeling that you want to live here! In fact, most of our residents are not originally from the area but migrated from all over the United States. At one point or another, they came to visit this beautiful area and fell in love with its beauty and decided to make it permanent, or at least decided to retire here.

This is exactly how my wife and I ended up living here. Were brought our family on a vacation and rented a houseboat on the lake for several days. We then bought a camper and would camp at the Bull Shoals White River State Park. Then we decided to buy a cabin and live here part-time, then a few years later we decided to buy a home here and we moved here full time in 2015.

We still cannot believe we really get to live here in the beautiful Ozarks, we love to hike, fish, swim, and party on the lake with so many good friends.

Bull Shoals Lake is nestled in the beautiful Ozarks and is the largest of the lakes in the White River basin, built to hold floodwaters and water for producing power by the Core of Engineers. The lake is 200 feet deep in some areas and offers beautiful crystal-clear water with excellent fishing opportunities for experienced anglers. If you do have some experience fishing for walleye, or just need to get more acquainted with it, you will want to consider joining the Twin Lakes Walleye Club

Bull Shoals is well known for walleye, crappie, and many other species. If you are not used to fishing in gin-clear deep water, you might consider hiring a lake fishing guide to help with your day on the lake. (Money Well Spent) Please see our Fishing Guide page for additional information.

Below Bull Shoals Dam is one of the country’s most admired and sought-after trout rivers, the White River. This river never freezes over and is well known for trophy Brown and Rainbow trout. This lures both fly fishing and spin fishing enthusiasts from all over the world. It runs cold and clear allowing wading when water is low, or power generation is minimal, and can be fished by drift boat or river boat when the water is faster and higher.

If you are not familiar White River Trout Fishing, I would recommend you hire a local White River Fishing Guide to show you fishing techniques. It will save you lots of time and will be a small price to pay for a great day on the river not to mention the fish you will keep and memories you will make.

Bull Shoals Rental Boats are readily available from several marinas on the lake including houseboats, fishing boats, and ski boats. You can arrange to stay several days on the lake living in a houseboat and truly get to see the lake's beauty from the water.

Need a place to stay? Short-term rentals are readily available too, with several VRBOs and Airbnb’s available around the lake and on the river. Please review our VRBO page for a list of rental houses and locations.
